Oakfields College Somerset West had the honour of hosting guest speaker, Desmond Denton, at the Film Faculty. Not only did our film students get invaluable and practical insight into the industry, but also tips on personal growth and development as a film-maker. In short, the masterclass with Desmond revitalised my students' passion and reminded them why they began this path in the first place." Tian Theron, Lecturer - Film & TV Production

I have had the privilege to work with Desmond Denton during this year’s media conference in Kenia. Desmond was a guest speaker presenting masterclasses, facilitating the film competition and mentorship.
The quality of his work and understanding of making films within an African and or third world setting have greatly contributed to the session leaving students with practical insight. Throughout my career in communication and media I have had the privilege to work with outspending people and Desmond qualifies as both an exceptional filmmaker and human being. During his time in Kenia he also mentored some of the HOPE MEDIA Team and participated in a field filming session. We are currently in discussions for further collaboration with possibility of a co production between South Africa and Kenia as an outcome based project. With this the aim would be to grow markets, develop skills and exchange between filmmakers. Kingston Ogango. Hope Media TV- KENIA |
